This white tea is from GeDeng Ancient Tea Mountain in China Yunnan. Gedeng is one of the six ancient tea mountains in China. Gedeng means a very high places. Gedeng is the Bulang language and was once the place where the Bulang people lived.
Geden ancient tea is a wild transitional type of mixed large, medium and small leaf species. Also known as Dabai Tea (large white tea).
This beautiful tea has a color pattern of black and grey with white tips. The level of oxidization is closer to Bai Mu Dan. It is a no-spray tea.
The flavor is complex, with floral notes higher up in the nose. We detect rose, which is similar to peony but more mild. Lower in the mouth is a sweeter, fruity flavor. Mostly pit fruit--peaches, plum. The aftertaste has notes of Dragon’s Eye, a tropical fruit. Expect a clean finish and quick taper.
Our white tea leaf imparts four flavorful cups, but we strongly suggest using lower temperatures of around 82c maximum to get the best out of this tea.
